My favorite part of working in digital marketing is being involved in site redesign projects. It’s a real feeling of accomplishment when the new site goes live and you have something tangible to show for all your hard work. I have managed and participated in more site redesign projects than I can count.
I had my first experience with WordPress while working at Insurance Software Design. Working with an outside vendor to revamp inhouse insurance agency site, Insurance Innovations, I learned the basics and have been hooked on WordPress ever since.
Web Content
Quality content is a key element of digital marketing. I have performed a number of roles within the digital content space, and am well-versed in most content management systems.
My portfolio includes managing web content projects; writing digital content strategies; conducting keyword research for clients and, of course, developing and editing core content for sites.
Social
My social media experience includes managing and developing social media strategies, recommending and developing written and graphical content, building social media calendars, tracking and reporting on results.
Earlier in my career, I was responsible for spearheading a social media program for academic publisher CRC Press.
As web marketing manager at CRC Press, I developed standard operating procedures to manage and expand their existing email marketing program. I tracked and reported email success rates to upper management, proofed email content prior to distribution, and ensured other team members followed proofreading and other processes.
In another role earlier in my career, I managed an email and fax program designed to generate advertising in weekly science publication, Chemical & Engineering News.
At CRC Press, I was responsible for ramping up and running their author video program. This involved researching and interviewing authors live about the books they published with the press.
